The Room Calorimeter Laboratory is part of the Clinical Research Unit in Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center. The laboratory includes a long-stay (30 m3) calorimeter and one “flex” room. The flex room can be converted between a configuration suitable for measuring energy and fat metabolism during rest (about 3 m3) and a configuration for careful tests of exercise and physical activities (5 m3). It will be completed in 2016.
